La Cucaracha
La Cucaracha
La Cucaracha is very similar to the Pro shape, but has a slightly pulled in nose which allows for a smaller turning radius. This means it rotates quicker, spins better, and can turn later in a steep pocket.
The nose is 3/4” shorter than that of the Pro shape, but maintains the same nose rocker placement; meaning more curve in the nose. It won’t draw out an elongated surf arc quite like the Pro shape, but performs much better when riding backwards or doing tricks off the nose.
The difference between the Pro shape and La Cucaracha is simply a choice of style. La Cucaracha caters to a skate style, while the Pro shape is more surfy.
All boards are handmade by Paul Wade in San Clemente, California. Built to endure years of use, they’re made with carbon fiber and e-glass baked in an epoxy matrix. Cores are shaped from high density foam. Boards are generally 3/4” under the front foot and tapered to 5/8” on the nose and tail unless otherwise requested. Tapering can vary depending on rider’s weight.
